I’m one of those people who will read the first sentence in a book to determine if I wish to purchase it. For me, a good novel gets me in the beginning and “moves” me to turn one page, then another and then another. And that’s exactly what Nancy Farkas did with “This Nearly Was Mine.”
At first, I thought, “the south of Spain?” But, found out that I was a willing companion from town-to-town. Also, as I went along for the ride, I felt that these were not fictional characters, but real people with real lives, families and experiences. Generally, I am NOT a love/romance story kind of reader, but I needed to give my mind a rest and I found relaxation in the flow of the storyline and enjoyed the writer’s humor. Good read. **** The following Tweet with graphic will be placed on Twitter at @ChicagoBlackBus and you can view under the notification tab on your Twitter account at https://twitter.com/AuthorNFarkas. Like Reading Someones Journal!
By Marisa Slusarcyk on March 6, 2015 Format: Kindle Edition This story is so sweet and is completely about love, commitment and conflicting feelings. A story of "what if" and "what could have been" makes this book read as though it is from someones personal journal rather than a story that was created. I wouldn't be surprised if the author had lived out a similar life journey. Awesome read and highly recommended!! |
